    300 sleeves

So I purchased sleeves and pistons from the Tractor Parts ASAP and they came last week. I did not get around to working on the project and am now wondering about installing them. They do not really start so I used inside-outside calipers first and then moved to micrometers and bore gauge set to...

Purchased my 68 Ford 2000, 3 cylinder motor, with non working power steering. I had a steering box leak and with the help of some of you guys on here, I rebuilt it. After the rebuild, nothing, no leaks, but no power steering. I have pump # C7NN3N675C with the separate power steering fluid tank...

Farmall H Broken Stud Bolt Of Water Jacket Behind Carb.

In replacing the leaking water jacket of my 1939 Farmall H my friend and I've found a stud bolt is broken behind the carburetor. I'm thinking of drilling it out. To do that I'll need to remove the manifold, carb. and attachment to the governor. Is this reasonably feasible, or should I just try...

    50% do it

I recently had Physical Therapy for a hip that is giving me trouble. The thread on the GMC pick-up tailgate reminded me what the therapist told me about effectiveness of PT. I got a referral to the orthopedic doctor who found a problem in the joint and gave me a steroid shot which of course you...

End of summer project is over....

I try to tackle something major every year late in the summer when things are slow. This year I decided it was time to start rebuilding the old dairy barn up by the road. It succumbed to an electrical fire many years ago. Close to 30 Holsteins were still inside. One of the surviving sons of...

    1020 hydraulics haunted

Conclusion: Finally got around to finishing this pump up. Ended up replacing the stroke control valve and seat like you suggested. Also replaced the piston springs and the outlet valve discs. These were cheap and I'll be replacing them anytime I open one of these pumps up from now on...

    1020 pump rebuild

I'm rebuilding a pump from a 1020 that had weak to no hydraulics (see haunted hydraulics thread from last week). The symptoms were good standby pressure (2250psi) with no demand, 0 psi with any sudden oil demand. The crankcase inlet pin was very likely stuck (considering how hard it was to...

    1020 hydraulics haunted

So I bit the bullet and swapped pumps w/ my other "66 1020. 1 Power steering perfect 2 Rockshaft massively leaking by (lever won"t go down) 3 left remote working great, can tilt bucket just fine 4 right remote very weak (probably do to #2 above), can just barely lift loader So, I"ve still got...

    1020 hydraulics haunted

Ok, I disconnected the remotes and rockshaft right before the priority valve and replaced it with a gauge. System builds to 2300, drops to 0 if I demand oil (turn the steering wheel). Also, when there is no demand for oil, it seems to "hunt" for standby pressure, sometimes won't build up until...

    1020 hydraulics haunted

Just capped the power steering; no change. What could I have missed on the rebuild? Replaced all o-rings, new thrust washers and quad ring, checked all the valves, etc. One inlet valve had a broken guide and was unscrewed, replaced that as well.
