    TO20 running problem

Cleaned entire fuel system. Flushed out tank, scrubbed the sediment bowl assembly , scrubbed bowl and screen , blew out fuel line with air and carb cleaner , cleaned carb elbow again. Replaced sediment bowl gasket , filled with fuel, installed new vented cap. Hooked up battery , turned on key...

    vented or non vented

Got a pic? Did you drill it in the center. The one I have looks like it should be vented but it's not, and I want to get this all right.

    vented or non vented

The parts book for my TO20 does not specify whether or not the fuel cap should be a vented or non vented cap. Both are offered for sale here, but which one? I previously bought a non vented cap, but now wondering if I wasted money on wrong part. Anyone have info ?

TO20 will not start - any suggestions?

sorry, posted to wrong topic, but my issue is similar with my '50. Check your ignition switch might look OK, but if it's several years old and been used a lot , won't hurt to change it. It illuminated one more chink in the chain. Check your fuel system , check cap for venting , blow out lines...

TO20 will not start - any suggestions?

had mechanic look at it, seems a fuel issue, we cleaning the tank today and recleansing the lines and bowl , did all before but not the tank filter , tried to cheat, but there are large size debris in sediment bowl, so are going there first. Air flow is unrestricted , coil is not installed...

    TO20 running problem

Also, now that I think back, it was starting sputtering then too as well as carb over flowing if gas not turned off right away, or turned open too much, and at the end didn't matter. It would empty the line too. We figured because of not having the ballast resistor in place was cause of burnt to...

    TO20 running problem

incorrect wiring, old wires, no ballast resistor, burnt points. I'm assuming at this point that might have also ruined the coil, however , even though not replaced, it ran great for over an hour of work . That confuses me a little , but also says I should replace it again. I replaced it and...

    TO20 running problem

Thanks for info guys. I have not located the starter bolts ywt, concentrating on the tractor running right now. Over heated coil? I did not change it, does that mean it's going bad? I'll check fuel lines again today after work

    TO20 running problem

New wiring , new plug wires , plugs good, new rotor, points and condenser , cap good, but one on order anyway. Fuel line checked, carb rebuilt. New battery as well. Ran perfect, aside from the accelerator being adjusted too tight and wanting to idle back down, which was temp solved by holding...

    TO20 starter bolts

Looks like 53 and 54 if that is the rear external bolt. If I'm seeing it right, the one bolt head rusted completely off. I'm sure the son in law can get the rest of the bolt out. While I'm at it, I figured I'd have him rebuild it. Is there a kit that has complete rebuild? Or do I have buy...

    TO20 choke lever springs back

I'm glad its functioning as it should . Like I said before, it's not the most convenient type of operation at all times, in every situation, but I understand the concept and how it helped keep some from forgetting to release choke after start up. Ferguson was very smart to incorporate the...

    TO20 starter bolts

Do you happen to know if they are a special size, or are they that common of a bolt that they are found in other starters? Just want to get as much info as I can before I take the starter back off. As of today, I will have a hand crank, thanks to fast shipping from Yesterday's Tractors, so I...

    TO20 starter bolts

Still repairing a neglected 1950 Fergie from previous owner, who was the original owner. I'm looking for the bolts that hold the starter together. The rear cap is trying to come off and spit everything out. One of the bolts has had the head rusted away, so there's only the one holding it...
