    Farmall 140 Oil Filter

Can anyone verify if a Purolator L20024 oil filter will fit a 1974 Farmall 140? I had been using a NAPA 1051.

    Sediment Bowl Leak

140 is running fine now. I put a can of Seafoam in it too and maybe that also helped. Also, I notice when I leave the tractor outside, it seems to have a bit of trouble starting unlike when I keep it under the shed. But, I never leave it out in rain. I suppose I'm a bit worried about any...

    Sediment Bowl Leak

I put a new brass ferrule on the fuel line pipe and inserted the line into the left side of the sediment bowl brass nut and then tigtened the brass nut behind the ferrule and it stopped the drip of a leak of fuel but now, the tractor runs like it's not quite getting the full flow of fuel and...

    Sediment Bowl Leak

Yes. right around the nut where it goes into the housing. The metal pipe that goes into that nut and the other end of the pipe that connects down to the carb actually seems to want to pull out of the nut but I have it tightened up but still a slow leak. I attached a photo.

    Sediment Bowl Leak

I have a 1974 Farmall 140 and put a new sediment bowl assembly on it but it won't stop slow leaking gas around the brass nut where the gas flows out of the bowl and down to the carb. It appears to be lined up correctly and I tightened that nut but when I turn the gas on, it still slow leaks. Any...

How To Unhook Mower From Farmall 140?

I have a 1974 Farmall 140 and a 5 foot Woods Dixie Cutter mower attached behind it. What is the best way to unhook and remove the mower from the tractor? I have unhooked the PTO and it's only the main hookup after pulling up the fast hitch lever on top of it but I can't seem to remember the...

    Rear Tractor Tire

Also, another question, I have a 5 foot Woods Dixie Cutter mower hooked up to the back of the tractor. Would I need to unhook that from the tractor before changing the back tire or is that not necessary?

    Rear Tractor Tire

Also, if I just replaced the tube, could that fix the problem?

    Rear Tractor Tire

I put a gallon of the Slime stuff in it a couple years ago and it held for awhile and put some more in it this year but it seems to be running out of the gash.

    Rear Tractor Tire

I have a 1974 Farmall 140 and my right rear tire has a gash in it near the side facing the tractor. It's a old Firestone 12.4-24. What would be my options to fix it without buying a new tire for the rest of the Summer season? Actually, I'm not sure if it has a tube in the tire or not. It doesn't...

    Leak at fuel fitting

Im still getting a leak around the nut and fuel pipe that connects to the sediment bowl. I read that there was originally a flat washer, I assume brass, on the end of the fuel pipe and they later changed that to what the current ferrules look like. But, I am confused on what size ferrule. Should...

    Carb Question

One thing on the original carb is the choke is stuck and wont close. It may be bent.

    Carb Question

I have a Cub Cadet 173cc self-propelled mower from 2006 and ordered a replacement carb for it but the fuel inlet on the carb is smaller than the one on the original carb and it leaks when I try to clamp the fuel hose on it. The new carb came with a smaller hose that will fit the inlet but is not...

    Cleaning Radiator?

What would be the best methods of cleaning the front of a radiator on a Farmall 140? I can't seem to get a air hose to most of it to clean out the dirt and debris. Do I need to raise the hood of the tractor after removing the exhaust pipe or have to remove the radiator to clean it all? Would a...
