advice for using a 9N to clear snow with a back blade and to have fun in winter.

Some very good advice here. If you have deep or heavy snow, speed matters. for heavy, wet snow I plow faster and keep moving. I also don't back up with my blade down into a snow pile.

Is draining water / antifreeze before winter the right move?

I would not drain the coolant out and let it sit.

    Tractor purchase

I have a Massey Ferguson with the Perkins 3 cylinder. In my opinion it is a very good engine. No complaints at all.

I bought a PJ 7712 a few years ago and have no complaints. Seems to be a well built trailer.

    Exceeding Maximum Tire PSI

If the tire isn't too old, I would not worry that much. I would be more concerned about "heavily loaded". Your GVW is also for your transmission.

    Voltage Regulator or Generator

Before you test anything in an electrical system on a tractor/vehicle, you must have a known good, fully charged battery. Having the right voltage does not prove it is good. Charge the battery and have it load tested (it will likely fail) then continue with diagnostics if needed.

When I replaced my dual clutch on my Massey MF-20 with a 3 cyl Perkins gas engine, I bought my parts here. I did have issues with the clutch fitting the flywheel, but I had to pull the clutch to ensure I would get the correct parts. I would also buy the pilot bearing and the manual if you don't...

    Blue Smoke - Thoughts?

I would run compression in all cylinders, and if good, give it about a cup of tranny fluid and run it pretty hard for a while as long as I had good oil pressure when hot idling.

Equipment/Tractor you bought you wish you had NOT!!!

I did a starter solenoid on a 5420. tough to get to, and would you believe they use one of the smallest torx head bolts securing it to the starter.

    Thermostat or not??

Put one in. They establish minimum operating temperature.

    Would You Trust This Radiator?

I would not go with the cheapest brand. I would go with a decent brand locally that you can easily get a warranty return on if needed. The joy of a cheap price will wear off pretty quickly if you have to pull it again. 3.3/3.8 engines were a decent engine family and they worked some of the...
