John Deere 'D' Magneto
I had the same issue with my 1939 D. I had the original Splitdorf mag rebuilt 8 years ago. The impulse spring is weak, and would no longer start by hand. Pull 2 feet and it will start. IHC Disc Plow Info/Parts Needed
I was thinking the same thing about being made to work with a cylinder. I am positive it is an International plow. There are IHC casting symbols all over it. There is still red paint underneath. I would like to know if there are any salvage yards where I might be able to find the missing pieces...- B Duncan

Info needed IHC 3 Disk Pull Plow w/pics
I bought this IHC 3 disk pull plow for way less than scrap price. I would like to get it operational to use behind my JD D tractor. I do not know anything about it, other than the make. Can anyone tell me what series it is, or possibly a year range? I have seen a video of one similar in use...- B Duncan

I'm glad you got it,, and when ever driving some thing with a punch make sure it is squared off and ground flat on the end, if not it will tend to swell the part being driven from the rounded point. Punches get rounded off from use, and abuse..- tim s

I have a D with an Edison Spitdorf mag. It has been rebuilt a number of years ago, but is currently firing on one cylinder. I have found that parts seem to be more expensive than the Wico type. Question for all you Sherman transmission guys. Is the seal that goes around the shaft to shift the transmission the same in a step-up & combination? Also the input seal the same as the input seal for the transmission? I have read up on the step ups bit no little about the combo.- Rob Mo.

venting a gas tank
I just coated my gas tank with Bill Hirsch tank sealer, I had a pin hole in the bottom , 1st coat the liquid squirted out the pin hole & the tank vent. 2nd coat not a drop came out either, is there a way to clear the vent? or do I have to vent the cap? If I got to vent the cap, what is the best...- heybusdriver

Low End John Deere Lawn tractors
I paid 1500 for a gently used GT275. I cant ask for a better used mower. The Kawasaki engine and hydro tranny, with a 48" deck are a great combo. I cut about an acre of grass a week.- B Duncan
