    Finding TDC on MF 255

    Thanks for the help. As a matter of curiosity, what size is the crank end nut? All my sockets are too tall to fit past the pulley. Trying to put a caliper on it is pretty tight and I get readings of about 1 11/16" to 1 3/4".

    I changed the lift pump hoping that would solve the problem. No joy. I saw the mark on the inspection hole for the flywheel but wasn't sure that was a way to find TDC. Thanks.

    Finding TDC on MF 255

    I need to pull the injector pump on my MF 255 for rebuild (diesel leaking into oil crankcase). Is there a way to find TDC on the Perkins 3.9L besides opening the valve cover? I see no timing marks on the timing chain cover or the harmonic balancer. Thanks.
