    Wiring A 7 Blade plug to a Case 411b

Ok, I know I’m going to get a lot of grief for this, but here goes. First, a brief explanation: I have heart problems that occasionally cause me to pass out. I can usually tell when it’s coming and have a few seconds to react. However, my wife and doctors have conspired against me to keep my...

8N Starting for 5 seconds then dying.

It does have an alternator, 1 wire with another wire for a guage or idiot light. I’m not sure of the brand. I got it from Amazon, so probably Chinese.

8N Starting for 5 seconds then dying.

Well, if I ruined it I ruined it, but I think you’re probably right that’s what happened. I’ll let you know tomorrow once I replace both. Thank you all.

8N Starting for 5 seconds then dying.

Connections are clean with newer cables and ground strap. The gas flow is unobstructed with new filters and screens this past January. Plugs, wires, and distributor all new within the past year. I really think this is electrical mostly because when you hook it up to the jump box it will fire...

8N Starting for 5 seconds then dying.

Thanks Jim, here’s the new kicker, I just got the new solenoid and went to put it on, noticed that my battery charger was flashing a warning. I put my multimeter on the terminals and zip, 0. So the question is, did something ruin the battery, or is the dead battery a coincidence? I checked...

8N Starting for 5 seconds then dying.

Howdy, I have an 8N with with side mount distributor, 12 V converted. I’m unsure of the year as the serial is obscured, but it has the terminal junction that looks like a number 8 and an ammeter. Here’s what’s happening. Solenoid started sticking after my son bush hogged a 6 acre field then...

Allis Chalmers WD suddenly stopped moving no forward or reverse.

To clarify, I have no choice but to split the tractor, Correct?

Jim, you are a saint. I’m sure I’ll be back in a short time asking your advice.

Allis Chalmers WD suddenly stopped moving no forward or reverse.

I’m about to drop the oil pan and see what there is to see up there.

Allis Chalmers WD suddenly stopped moving no forward or reverse.

So, using the PTO method it appears that everything in there is working. Thoughts?

Thanks Jim, I’m going to try that now, I’ll report back.

Allis Chalmers WD suddenly stopped moving no forward or reverse.

This is excellent information, better than I’ve found in any video. Thank you. I should have mentioned that the PTO will not engage either, neither will the hydraulics. The engine runs as it normally does, but that is the only thing functioning.

Allis Chalmers WD suddenly stopped moving no forward or reverse.

You’re absolutely right, it had nothing to do with the oil. I pulled the hand clutch cover off from under the battery box and engaged the hand clutch while in gear. I was able to move the tractor by sticking my hand in and rotating the mechanism. Then I pulled the plate off of the dry clutch...

Allis Chalmers WD suddenly stopped moving no forward or reverse.

Ok, so my WD stopped in its tracks. No big noises, no grinding sounds, nothing. The engine runs beautifully, but I can’t translate that into power to my wheels. The hand clutch seems fine. Any suggestions are appreciated and welcome.

My son put 15w-40 oil in the tranny/hydraulics on AC WD.

So there’s a lot of discussion about this on the unofficial Alice forum, and over there the overwhelming majority recommend hytran over the original prescribed oil. Very different response here.
