Thanks Ultradog, but never having done this before I don't quite understand your description. I know about the timing marks, but my question is, if I remove the three bolts from the gear that are under the inspection cover and then remove the three pump bolts, what will keep the gear from just... -

Have a 66' ford 4500 TLB that run okay but the injector pump is dripping constantly so thought I would install a seal kit in it. Don't have a manual so I'm kind of doing it of a wing and prayer. I'm sure someone out there has done this before and was wondering if after removing the 3 bolts... -

4500 TLB Power Steering Problem
Steve, thanks for your reply. Kit did not come with spring, used original and no shims were there when I took it apart. The spool/relief will only fit one way. Do you know on which side you would shim the spring to increase pressure? Wondering if after cleaning everthing out the relief is...- berky

4500 TLB Power Steering Problem
Like most 4500's the power steering system leaves a lot to be desired. Mine is a 66 with the remote canister. It was working but the pump began to develop some leaks. Bought a seal kit and installed it the other day. Took care of the leaks, but now it steers harder than before. I am...- berky

need help... identify this tractor backhoe and loader
Looks like a 3500 series, not a 4500. Loader is probably a 735. Hoe end could be a 753 or 755 depending on the dipper length. -

Ford 4500 TLB - backhoe model
Most 4500 used a 755 model backhoe. The pins could be worn, but many times the bushing they ride on are the first to wear out and need replacing. Measure the pin diameter in the center and then on the outside, that should tell you how badly they are worn. -

4500 PS oil line routing
Anyone have a picture of their 4500 remote Power steering reservoir that can show how the lines are routed? Mine does match the NH web site drawings and I suspect the previous owner may have got them mismatched. -

Thanks sotxbill. You know I got on the New Holland site and downloaded a picure of the set up. The lines on mine do not match their pic. The return line from my front steering cylinder goes to the bottom of the reservoir. New Holland shows one of the lines from the pump going to the bottom... -

Got the filter at my local Ford construction equipment store and it does have pleats. Don't that just figure. Do you have a part number for the right one? Is the safety valve the large aluminum plug on the side? thanks for the help -

My 4500 TLB with remote reservoir and filter will sometime blow fluid out the the vent hole. Usually occurs when cold but not always. I have put a new filter on the unit and changed the fluid but it still happens. Must be something wrong in the pump. Any ideas out there on what the problem... -

The CAV injector pump on my 3 cylinder (201ci DIESEL)has a slight leak from the throttle shaft on top of the unit. Is there anything that can be done to fix this or does the pump need to come apart?
