    Pinckneyville pull this Saturday

Hey Mike, I am probably not going to be able to make the pull. No 'go fast' classes are scheduled that I am aware of, but if some people show up that want to do it I am sure they will make a class. I know this is not much help. Brian

    Changing Trans. Gear Pitch

The gear diameter will be the same no matter what pitch of gear you use if the ratio remains constant.

Abs braking system on a pulling tractor?

As far as ABS technology, it would be interesting to find out if keeping a wheel from locking up when applying the brakes would be good enough for pulling. One thing I notice is how you dont always 'feel' things like wheel slip until its a major thing. Anybody that uses a radar gun for speed...

Abs braking system on a pulling tractor?

Tempola, I have pulled with you before at West Alton..... Dont get discouraged because you can't find people that can contribute on here. It is not their fault they lack in knowledge. I know Cat started using the same concept on their articulating loaders to balance torque (aka prevent wheel...

    Chain Length Differences

Force in the chain.....this would either have to be down with a load cell within chain or even something simple like a hydraulic cylinder and a pressure gauge. If you do cylinder method take psi times surface area of piston (Dont forget to subtract rod surface area) I have pulled on a sled...

    Chain Length Differences

If you want to calculate it and know the force in the chain you can break the force into its two vectors... Sin of the angle of chain to ground times force in chain is down force on drawbar. Cos of the angle of chain to ground times force in chain is the forward motion force. When the front...

400 motor has gas blowing out carb

Cam out of time or you have an intake valve not sealing is what I would check. Only other thing I could think is a cracked head in an intake port.

    What do you think? Welding

I got an M and a DT466 that ground through about dime side hole. Just covered inside with masking tape and jb weld on outside. DT was done in 1992 and M was done in 2004. Neither have leaked oil.

    Electric shift torque 560

High side is clutch pack, low side is sprag....where is middle that would 'slip' resulting in power train going into a neutral position? Besides, right actuator would be faster than a human....

    Electric shift torque 560

Do you consider a two speed rearend in a grain truck to be slow at shifting? One advantage on ta in red tractor is there is no neutral between high and low.
