    Atlantic Parts Quality

    I just purchased an axle for an 8N. The axle would not fit into the differential....a few thousandth off. To make it worse, I did not check the fit before having the bearing pressed on. Junk.

    Ordered an axle on Amazon and it won't fit. Chinese junk. Visually it looks correct but it will not go all the way into the diff. Have you ever had this problem?

    I think it is the drum rubbing on the backing plate (also a new part). New hub splines are flush with the end of the axle. Any recommendations or will it be OK? I can drive the tractor.

    It's a new hub but maybe the splines are worn. When i back off the axle nut it turns without any mechanical noise though. If it is the rubber axle seal, will it damage my bearing if it starts to degrade?

    Spacers are correct. Wheels turn opposite.
