I have never seen water, mud, or milk on the dipstick. The breather vents the valve cover, which I have never had off. What is a likely path for steam to get under the valve cover? Will it be obvious if I pull it? Should I have a gasket on hand before I remove the valve cover? -

Are there hazards to grazing oats
I have 4 acres I planted this spring in Timothy and oats. Between late planting and low PH, it didn't grow very tall. Rather than haying it, I want to graze it. The oats are in boot stage. Who Farms w-1 Tractor Only????
I make hay and graze cows and horses, a small operation. I graze 20 acres and hay about 30. My only tractor is a Ford 4610. I also am lacking a tow vehicle for my trailers. Interesting idea. It should work IF you can find a practical way to run the water through the wood without washing them away. Let the wood ships collect N for a season, Pile them up to finish composting for a season, then spread them back into the field. There is no tile around here. I have...- bja105

Round bale feeders
Would unrolling the bales work? I never tried it, but I am told you can unroll them with the front tractor tire. Lots of guys on the cattle forum unroll. I don't like running the tractor in snow and ice, so I never tried.- bja105

Your management must be quite different than mine. Are you leaving the ring in the same place for many bales, or do you move it? I have a very small herd (4 mothers and their calves, and 4 horses).
