    Continuity across 9n solenoid

    Should not get a reading across the terminals as you stated it is just a mechanical switch no idea how you would see 10 Ohms. M-MAN is talking talking about an 8N not your 9N

    Lift all the wires off the A terminal hook the 2 "12 Y" wires back down and hook up the battery again, if the Gen spins problem is the cut out relay as no other source to supply voltage to the gen.

    Need an analog meter for checking output of generator, digital meter will jump all over the place.

    Use your favorite brand of rust penetrate where the shaft goes into the housing and start working them by hand.

    If you are measuring across the battery posts it sounds like a bad battery, take it to get tested.

    Way Way Off Topic. Wooden Phone Booth???

    The ones I used to work on had a spot on the side and the face of the box had a vertical slot that used a T handle. Can you post some pictures?

    Ford 9n stalled - won't start.

    He said "So my son was using it, first he said tractor was starting to loose power, starting spitting and sputtering and then died will not start back up. 6 volt gas."
