    Eliminating draft control

To answer your original question, this is what I did and position control works fine. Some context first: I bought a 135 last summer and the position lever didn't work at all. I could only use the lift arms with draft control lever. I just took the lift cover off this week and here is what I...

    Z145 Rebuild

Tractor is almost done and now I have a peculiar problem. The fuel gauge works on ACC but it doesn't works when the tractor is running. I does flicker every now and then but doesn't stay on; just a second or two. Any ideas on what would cause this issue?

    Z145 Rebuild

Got the old Z-45 running. It's runs pretty good. I set the governor up same at Standard engines (Bundy Bear video) and it works also. Thanks for your assistance.

    Z145 Rebuild

I can't find anything either on initial set-up. This is good info though. Thank you again.

    Z145 Rebuild

    Sorry. It's in a 1964 Massey Ferguson 135.

    Z145 Rebuild

Well, I got it started but had to retard the distributor 1/8th turn to start and then back to original position to idle correctly. Runs good at idle but won't accelerate. Gas pours out of the carburetor mouth. Plugs are black and sooty after 30 minutes, from too much gas I suppose. So, I guess...

    Z145 Rebuild

Thank you Jim. That's the clearest explanation I've seen yet! I'll give that a try shortly.

    Z145 Rebuild

Well, I got the engine back together but I'm losing hair trying to get it running correctly. It wasn't wired when I bought it and the distributor was just thrown in the hole. Can anyone tell me how to set the distributor on a Z-145?. The book I have has a diagram showing that #1 is at 7:30...

    Shibaura Fords

It was such a glorious day that I moved tractors to clean out the sheds. These two lined up nicely for a photo. These are the two Shibaura siblings out of the herd. 1620 HST on the left and 1510 12 speed on the right.

    Z145 Rebuild

I'm in the process of rebuilding a Continental Z145. I just removed the sleeves and I see a lot of corrosion on the bottom journal where the oil rings seat. I think I would have to hone the surfaces to remove the scale and still I don't know if there will be enough good contact area for the new...

    MF 135 Side Emblem

Does anyone know where to buy the 135 medallion that goes on the side of the instrument panel on the US models? All I can find is the medallion for the 135UK which, of course, requires different bolt holes (side by side) where mine are vertical (top and bottom). Thanks in advance.

    Question on Hydraulics Set-up

P.S. And you're correct in that it WAS a position control issue and draft control had nothing to do with it. BTW, I put a 'minor' rebuild kit in the pump (chambers, valves, pistons and blocks) and it works very well now. No jittering on the lift arms at all. The old parts were pretty worn.

    Question on Hydraulics Set-up

A solution?? I was researching the issue on the internet last night and came across a technical article by Agriline Diesel in South Africa. http://www.agriline.co.za/technical/technical/hyd_maintenance.html They run a tractor shop and specialize in Massey Ferguson and Ford. They say in the...

    Question on Hydraulics Set-up

A revelation: while still investigating, I removed the position control lever slide tensioner and moved the PC lever all the way down, and past the stop (about 3/4 inches further that the PC lever channel would normally allow). The lift arms dropped to the full down position. The lift arms now...
