    450-501 or V8 into M?

    Anyone ever thought about or done a swap with a 450 or 501, or a V8, into a gas M? I would assume a frame/sheet metal/steering extension would be needed for the big sixes, more concerned about flywheel/clutch/bellhousing compatibility. If not, what fits better? 345, 392, 401, 478, 549? Any kits...

    Have a 1948 Ford 8N and am in the process of rebuilding carb. This parts site lists (2) rebuild kits. One for the TSX241 A thru C series carbs and one for the TSX33 carb.     Helping neighbor with 544

    when I did a tune up on my 544 The kit that I got from mills fleet farm had the wrong points in it. I"m in the boat business and showed it to one of the mechanics and he told me it was just a standard delco set up. So i bought one for a 4 cyl mercruiser and it fit perfect. Brian

    i've got the same problem with my 544. i've been through the carb 3 times with 1 new kit and had the manifold off and put on a new gasket, still the same problem. one mechanic told me to go through the ignition system which doesn't make sense to me but i'm willing to try it just haven't got to...
