    Tractor Batteries

On that note- an instructor at a seminar indicated that the highest CCA was not necessarily the best option as the thinner plates were more susceptible to vibration.

    200 A C rear end trouble

I assume you're trying to tow it? The way they are configured it seems unlikely water would get into a brake housing, but that's what it sounds like to me.

    Two Bit Tractor Fix

I was working on an AC D15 series II which had developed a leak. This tractor had a problem since new of knocking/pre-ignition. It should have run high test gas, or had the timing retarded, or both. I found a little crevice right in the top of the block between two cylinders. I didn't know what...

how to measure moldboard plow bottoms?

It's been a long time since I used a moldboard plow. We used OEM "narrow cut" points/shares on our Oliver/White plows. I don't know if that's all that was available locally or what. But I remember seeing "full cut" points at some point in time. I suppose the narrow cut points pulled easier, and...

    Silo for Saturday

Do we think the facility which these silos served was between them and is now gone?

Right, and I would consider replacing the dead one with a live one if a problem developed.

I just took a closer look at your picture. I see that your cam/lock assemblies are a little different than the ones I am used to on a WD. And there's only three of them! That's interesting. I'm very suspicious of them. The fact that you're running at the end of the rails may be hiding the...

Do your cam/lock assemblies work like they should? Can you loosen them and spin the rim out? I think I'd try running it in a different spot and see if it makes a difference. Do you know if those little cam follower pieces are all intact and in place?

Just curious, does the tractor still have a working hand clutch? But before getting into that- start from the simplest. I've seen a rear end disassembled when the issue was a loose wheel or wheel weight! It's possible your power shift wheel is giving a little bit when it gets extra stress and...

Best Crowfoot wrenches for Hydraulic fittings?

Sorry- wrong again! It only goes up to 2 inch. 14 piece set starting at 1 and 1/16. There is no ID anywhere! I just looked- they're all over the internet. Still the same red plastic tray. Prices from $55 on up.

Best Crowfoot wrenches for Hydraulic fittings?

I'll have to try to remember to look.

Best Crowfoot wrenches for Hydraulic fittings?

With a similar goal in mind I shopped around on the internet until I found a set I could justify. I was concerned about size. My set goes up towards three inches if I remember correctly.

    Allis Chalmers C air cleaner

We got the bright idea once of taking the guts apart on our WD air cleaner. That was a mistake. I don't think we ever got all of that mesh back in there. The bees wings we got in there from running the corn sheller wouldn't hurt the engine anyway.

    Fertilizer auger

I've got one I should haul to an auction. I switched to liquid 4 years ago. It's even got a SS hex center tube with plastic segments on for the auger. I think I replaced the segments once. Had to replace the hyd motor in a hurry once and it cost me a small fortune!

    Frost-free hydrants

Yes it can be done. When I bought this farm, the elderly owner had purchased a hydrant and started to dig a hole outside the old milkhouse to install it. I got the bright idea of putting it inside. This worked great for years. Until I wanted to replace the seal. I hadn't figured on not having...
