Craftsman tools are made in China now. To look at them, I think the Quality is not as good. Time will tell. Bob

    Torpedo heater

is one of the pump ports on top of the pump a place you can put a gauge? Some on oil burners say gauge on them and you remove a plug and install one. Pressure should be about 100 lbs if I remember right. There is an adjustment screw on the pump. Some oil burner pumps have replaceable screens in...

    630 vs R plowing

In the 1960's we plowed with a 630 with 3-16's in forth gear.(3 point JD plow) The only time I had to drop to 3rd gear was plowing sod. The ground was considered to be sandy loam. My dad would say the 630 would "run" with that plow. The ground in southern Maryland must be very different from...

    Super-C Thermostat

Are the Original type thermostats available for the Super-C? If not what are others doing to replace them? Is there some kind of adapter available for using the normal thermostats? My tractor never gets to operating temperature because thermostat never closes. Thanks, Bob

    JD 630

I am willing to bet that at least one bearing is scored. I would not try to turn it at this point and do more damage. if you take crank bearings out now maybe you can get by by polishing the crank and replacing the main bearings. I have a 630 and have been thru this. Mine cracked the piece that...

    F-12 Overdrive unit

Thanks Guys, I will try it again next weekend. This is a Hiesler overdrive and I did have it in just not in the right position. I put it in without the coupler on and then there was not enough room between drive shaft from bell housing and shaft from overdrive unit to get the coupler on then...

    F-12 Overdrive unit

Trying to install an overdrive unit in an F-12. Does the shifting shaft belong on top. Where does the operating lever mount? Does the engine need to be slid forward to get the yoke on the overdrive unit and then slid back? Is it nessesary to grind a notch in the frame on the clutch side of the...

    F series tractors

I have an F-12 but they are too slow for tractor rides, you would get left behind. I don't know how fast they would go with overdrive units. My Super-C is much more comfortable, so it gets used a lot more. I have had the F-12 since 1991 and have no intention of ever getting rid of it.

Farmall cub fast hitch with woods belly mower???

My 66 cub Lo-Boy came with an IH 60" belly mower (also IH) and One point hitch. I cut my grass in 2nd gear most of the time. When I let the grass go too long, I might have to cut it in first. Only thing I use the one point for is to pick up a trailer tongue to move a trailer. That is very handy...

    #45 loader on 630

I would say they are single acting. They only have one hose on each cylinder. My dad bought this tractor and loader in 1963 and nothing has been changed except me upgrading to dual hydraulics last week.

    #45 loader on 630

I have the loader hooked to the lower remote connector just like I did before I changed from single hydraulics to dual hydraulics. I am away from the tractor and my manual until Friday for work, so I'll go through the manual when I get back. Thanks, Bob
