    Yanmar 2200 questions

    tdc1 goes to the cylinder closest to flywheel. got them all set and boy what a difference starting and running. glad no damage was done by the previous owner

    setting ym2200 valves

    pull the inspection cover off of the fly wheel. youll see 1tdc and spin it around and see 2tdc the #1 cylinder is closest to the flywheel. adjust valves i did mine at .006 then i usually crank it over for a bit and recheck. can also pull the injectors or glow plugs to release the compression...

    On the flywheel it’s stamped top dead 1 and 2 for the cylinders. Think the previous owner adjusted the valves on the wrong cylinder to the top dead stamp on the flywheel

    Just bought a Yanmar 2200. And come to find out finding information and some parts are going to be difficult. But most of all I’m trying to do the basics. From what I gathered is cylinder 1 the closest to the seat? And cylinder 2 is closest to the radiator? Seems odd to me like it should...

    Lots of work ahead

    Woke up this morning to see this. I know it got rough yesterday but wha-? Got told I should get started - I was gonna finish the roof on a shed to store the lumber first, but dodging the rains to get that roof done isn't working too well. Been at it a month to cover a 16x24 with a steel roof.
