Massey 88 convert to Perkins motor

Just to update. I have spoken with a Perkins expert who has been in the game for a very long time. He is more then confident that the flywheel I have on the Perkins will be fine and there will be no need to purchase another one. I am yet to split either tractor but fingers crossed.

MS 85-Engine Continental HD 277 HELP!

Did you get this engine fixed? I am currently removing a HD 277 continental from a Massey 88 and replacing it with a Perkins. All parts good except cam shaft and injector pump.

Massey 88 convert to Perkins motor

My other option although I m not sure if it s possible is to leave the multi power clutch connected to Perkins motor and split the tractor just behind gear shift leavers.

Massey 88 convert to Perkins motor

Thanks Dieseltech. Tracking those parts down is not going to be easy. Would there be a way of modifying a flywheel of off a Perkins A4.318? Say out of a 1080 or 1085? Only because finding these parts might be easier.

Massey 88 convert to Perkins motor

I have a Massey 88 with a Continental HD277 motor in it. The camshaft and injector pump are both buggered in this motor. I also have a Massey Super 90 with a Perkins motor in it. Can the Perkins motor be put in the Massey 88? The Super 90 is the multi power version. Will this be a problem?
