What's the latest you ever baled hay?

I planted oats as a cover for my alfalfa around August 20th. I had no intention of getting anything out of it, but mid Oct. it was 2 1/2' tall since it stayed unusually warm and it was beginning to lay down, so we swathed it. After being rained on once and a few insignificant snows, I finally...

JD 3380 Swather Good and Bad

My opinion is that the 3430 is a far better machine than the 2270, and then 300a head is twice the head as a 230 or 240 that will be on the 2270. With 1500 hrs that 3430 could bring significantly more than $5000 in central WY.

Tracing the history of a Case 1200 Traction King

Yep, Do a white page search and it will give phone #'s for the George in Dewitt. I won't post the #'s as I don't think that is appropriate. Dewitt is @ 40 miles away from Howell.

    Wildfires?

No, phragmites is a relatively new weed to us in Wyoming. I believe phragmites likes moist areas, river banks, creek bottoms, etc... Cheatgrass in general, thrives in climates that have lower annual precip., although it has no problem thriving in irrigated alfalfa fields. I guess to give an...

    Wildfires?

Cheatgrass is an invasive annual grass from Asia if I recall it's origin correctly. Cheatgrass (Downey brome) grows very early in the spring, in a drought year it will use up the moisture so that the native grasses won't have any moisture to grow with. It then dries out early summer, is a very...

    Wildfires?

If the fire is on Federal land, the US taxpayer pays the bill, State and private lands are payed by state and county taxes. Fires started in forests are generally started by lightening.

    John Deere 544G

The specs in the owners manual showed them as a four speed, but I know what you mean, the shift between 1-2 and 3-4 were so smooth that I didn't realize there were two gears in each selection our 544b.

    7410 deere

Tractors under SN 30000 show it uses R110087. JD has it's parts catalogs online at JDparts.com, I recommend you check the parts numbers yourself as I have mistakenly ordered incorrect parts for myself.

    Grinding Gears

A little grinding is typical of my 750. I looked it up on JDParts, and don't see syncros either.

    John Deere 544G

I am pretty sure the 544G uses a ZF four speed transmission, I know the later series do. The 544B uses a 4 speed Allison transmission. I don't have experience with 544G, but I do have a 544J, on it the transmission has two modes manual shift or automatic.

    John Deere-Killefer 4200 4FD plow

Not positive, but it may be the same part on the 8350 and 8450 rollover plows if that helps you in your search.
