New Holland 3430 - exhaust doesn’t sound right

Gosh I hope it's none of those things at 895 hours!! It does become less obvious at high idle or high RPM. It's lessened, but doesn't go away. Anything I can try prior to invasive repairs?

New Holland 3430 - exhaust doesn’t sound right

I am not familiar with tractors of this vintage, but the exhaust note doesn't sound right and it seems like it smokes more than I would expect with a low hour machine. All of my machines are downdraft exhausts so I don't hear any of this. You can't 'hear' it from behind the muffler in the...

How to adjust PTO/Second Stage of clutch on MF240

Yes. All free play was adjusted prior to second stage. Adjusting free play almost was enough but I went ahead and made the second stage adjustment. Im going to run with it.

How to adjust PTO/Second Stage of clutch on MF240

Yes. I got those adjusted. They were out a measurable amount. I can't remember what I set them at but referenced a few places including my service manual. That part works. I have two distinct detents now. The clutch is working, it is a live PTO and I have a lever to select ground speed or...

How to adjust PTO/Second Stage of clutch on MF240

Good to know. Yeah, mine is mechanical. Forward is ground speed and rearward is engine speed for the PTO.

How to adjust PTO/Second Stage of clutch on MF240

I got everything adjusted. It works OK but it still grinds because it takes so dang long for it to spin down when the secondary clutch in engaged. I know that because I can start the tractor with PTO engaged and my foot on the second stage of the clutch and it doesn’t spin. I understand there is...

Continental Belton R5R-50FA Manual - Anyone have one?

I'm willing to pay for a decent scan of the operators manual if anyone has one.

How to adjust PTO/Second Stage of clutch on MF240

Well, I have searched all over and found some cursory loose information but nothing substantial. My tractor as a two stage clutch. I have adjusted it per the operating manual, and the 'gear side' of everything operates fine and with no issue. However, there really isn't a second stage. I...

    Idle adjustment on Mahindra?

I have a very obvious high idle set screw, but there is nothing for the low idle anywhere. So, I guess this is internal somehow? It’s a 3505DI and the pump says Mico Bosch 25 and a lot of other numbers on the tag. I’d like to kick the idle up to spec around 750 as it’s a hair low just no screw...

3505DI - No implement drop rate control??

I got a machine from a buddy. He never used it and needed to clear out his garage. So, he gave it to me. It has 355 hours on it, and yes, the meter works. Still getting used to how the Mahindra does things. I don't think my 3505 has any adjustment for the speed at which implements drop. This...

Golden Jubilee rear axle three point damage/mod

Yeah. My FIL used the tractor a lot when he set it up. I am a bit concerned with the 'ease' in which I can turn over the motor by grasping the fan blade. It does not have that 'resistance' or 'pop' feel as a motor with compression would. We'll see when I get it cleaned up and a leak down...

Golden Jubilee rear axle three point damage/mod

I don't know if I can use it at all. The machine has been sitting for 20 years with a gas tank that has a hole in the top. Fluids look OK, but it is like any old neglected machine. I want to check the motor out, if it's shot, it's worth more as scrap.

Golden Jubilee rear axle three point damage/mod

WIerd. Looks like they busted the original mount on the housing. Perhaps the linkage is original. They brazed the broken link, then ran a stainless rod to both ends and then angle iron back to two more mounts. Aside from looks, which I'm not a fan of, its probably stronger than it was. I'll...
