    440-H transmission oil

Any advise would be appreciated on changing my 1960 Case 430 / 440-H transmission oil. My tractor sits outside allot and the transmission oil has turned milky from water contamination. I've seen conflicting oil recommendations and my closest dealer was no help. If possible, I rather not drive...

    NH 275 Baler

http://partstore.agriculture.newholland.com/us/parts-search.html#epc::mr54113ar326053 That *SHOULD* link to the schematic for the PTO clutch on a 275 square baler. Looks like you're asking about the friction discs, (part number- 128651).

JD 24 T baler teeth with a slight bend

If you found the bestbalerparts.com website, I think that $16.50 price is for six. It's listed that way for the 14T, which I think use the same pickup teeth.

Bush Hog PTO shaft safety cover removal? Yes or No???

I'd fix it for no other reason than SOMEONE at SOME TIME is going to borrow or use it, cause a disaster with their stupidity, and because of a missing guard, you could then be liable for. Safety gear isn't about protecting safe people, it's about protecting idiots, in the classical sense of...

remote Hydraulic only works when pressing both control

Have you tried hooking it up to the other remote? If, for some unforeseeable reason, the fluid doesn't bypass the first remote until it's operated, it may work on the first in the system, but not the second. I wouldn't put much hope there, but it could rule out a single remote being the...

    Case mower pitman sticks

After finding a chart for wood strength by species, I'd be inclined to say yes.

    gardening question

Potatoes, like any other crop, have different varieties with different maturity dates. Pick one, then find an almanac that will list the expected frost date for your area and work backwards, subtracting your maturity time from your expected frost date.

New holland 658 - hp needed to run

Yep. Had years when we'd have to clean ours out multiple times a day, and years with virtually no problems (beyond reasonable maintenance). Better finding something easy and feeling stupid than finding something complex and feeling poor.

New holland 658 - hp needed to run

Are you absolutely certain that there is nothing wrong with the tractor by way of radiator, fan, air cleaner, front grill screen, or thermostat problems? Every time I've ever experienced an overheating problem, it was never the equipment's problem. Some have been plugged up grill screens...

John Deere 24T knotter trip mechanism

Hey guys, I've moved on from the trip mechanism to the actual knotters. The knife/wipe arm bearing/ball is the new problem. Apparently they're held on by washer that's' been peened onto the shaft. I've managed to remove the washer, but destroyed it in the process. The balls are still...

John Deere 24T knotter trip mechanism

Yeah, there's a bucket of parts for attaching the brake disc, and the trip arm. I was just wondering if that broken off ear has some hidden function that I'm not seeing. I'd assume it's merely holding the spring tensioned that holds the roller cam on the trip dog to the outside of the chain...

John Deere 24T knotter trip mechanism

Sure can. This photo looks at the knotter clutch ring with the trip hub located in the center of it. The brake disc is removed to show it better.

    haybine-discbine

Our drying time for hay went from 3 work days with just a mower conditioner, down to a little over one with the addition of a tedder. Dad's still using his old 9ft Hesston 1091 mower conditioner. He's had a 95 hp JD 4020, a 95hp JD 2955, and now a cabbed 95hp Ford 7710. The newer models...

John Deere 24T knotter trip mechanism

I recently latched onto a broken 24T. IT appears that the connection from of the measuring arm to the trip arm has broken. Also, on the trip hub, a flange or something appears to have broken as well. The spring that's attached to the trip dog is dangling, and appears to have been...

    John Deere 55H plow setup.

Thanks guys! PC158 has me on the right track. At least there're photos in there to compare to the plow itself. Hopefully we'll get it figured out! Hopefully this miserable Indiana weather will break soon and spring will arrive.
