    Massey 44 hydraulic cylinder question

John, don't chuck out that cylinder. Apparently they are hard to locate anymore. I just discovered that my IT manual shows the controls assembled incorectly! Took me 6 months to learn that. I think it works fine now, I'll know more in a few hours tho. Where in ND are you located? By the way...

    Massey 44 hydraulic cylinder question

If in fact you have a 44sp rear section, you should have a special manifold on top where hydraulic lines plug in. I have 2 of these tractors and the part you are showing isn't on either of them. With that said, I am in need of the controls for a 44sp or maybe I'll have to go the route you did.

    MH-44special hydraulic manifold info

Used to be a fella not too far from me who had a field full of old Massey's. Tried to find the place today but it doesn't seem to exist anymore. My neighbor has barns filled with Massey's but he won't part with anything, so the search continues. When I was a teen I had a Mustang. What a sweet...

    MH-44special hydraulic manifold info

Nice looking machine. That looks like a standard. Reminds me of the 55 I did all the plowing and field work with. My posts keep bouncing all over the place so I can't retrieve all my messages but I thought someone said the pump on the 33 is the same as 44. If that is in fact true I might know...

    MH-44special hydraulic manifold info

I have no idea what year mine is. Based on style of tag mine should be late 50's but all numbers aren't legible. I've seen where some folks have mounted front hydraulics on 44's and they worked quite well. But that was when a fella could actually afford the pump. What I've seen recently for the...

    MH-44special hydraulic manifold info

I do have the factory 3pt. Really don't wan't to get rid of that as I use it a lot. Correction, used to use it. (still holding out hope on that) After reading IT manual, it appears one has to connect hyd. lines in series on a 44 spec. unless you can locate the factory controls what bolt to top...

    MH-44special hydraulic manifold info

Thanks guys. I do have another 44 special parts tractor but it was missing pump and of course that wicked manifold. This should be setting off some alarms! Luckily I've never allowed common sense to interfere with my decisions. I had to remove fuel tank and steering column to get at that darned...

    MH-44special hydraulic manifold info

Thanks for the info (U??). I tried the AGCO site but apparently I failed miserably. All I could get was the 44's. Could not find the 44 special. Basically everything is same between units with the obvious exception being that darned hydraulic manifold and whatever is hiding within. I wonder if...

    MH-44special hydraulic manifold info

I hope not M, it's my understanding they can't be rebuilt and parts are apparently no longer available. I did have pressure (1000) but once things warmed up the pressure took a nose dive. Hence my checking on the relief valve. I must admit that before all that nonsense, I did in fact perform an...

    MH-44special hydraulic manifold info

The basic owners manual shows it located in the crossing line between inlet and outlet lines. Not Massey's proudest moment in design I might add. Anyway the valve landed in my hand when I removed the plug you mentioned. One would think something should be holding it in place but I haven't a...

    MH-44special hydraulic manifold info

I'm going through process of elimination as to why hydraulics have loss of pressure. I then opened up hydraulic manifold and out popped the relief valve. Does anyone have a diagram, image or info in regard to what is supposed to be in there and how does one put that valve back in place?
