Jubilee starter problem
Thanks to all for taking the time to reply. Turns out that it was the starter drive after all. Upon closer inspection I found that one of the tabs had broken off the spring (see photo)... I should have seen it the first time I had the starter out. How difficult is it to remove/replace the...- Brown Co. guy

Jubilee starter problem
My Jubilee (12v conversion) started right up when I went out to put on the scraper blade, even though I haven't used it since early summer, but it died suddenly (like I turned off the switch) after running about a minute or so, and wouldn't restart. Jubilee won't crank
I was planning on working up the garden, but couldn't get even a groan out of the Jubilee (12v conversion). The guy at the parts store said the old battery tested OK, and I can get the starter/engine to turn over if I connect the battery directly to the starter.
