    To20 - turns over but won't start

I had trouble getting my TO35 to fire ... I had checked everything, including for spark as you did. Finally, in desperation, I hotwired the coil directly to the battery and the tractor finally fired up! It turns out the "mechanic" previous to me had wired the ignition circuit to the Accessory...

getting rid of moles eating my sweet corn

I don't like to use poisons on my vegetables nor around my kids and pets -- too much risk. My solution: BBQ'd moles and gophers! After I finish grilling my own dinner, I drop the still glowing briquets into all the holes and tunnels I can find. Just use one briquet or else they'll smother...

    Only runs with choke out

It sounds like a piece of dirt has clogged a fuel passage in the carburetor. This would lead to an extremely lean mixture that can be remedied, in the short term, with some choke. The choke is cutting the air supply to match the now-reduced fuel supply.

    Lubricants

When I worked on undersea ROVs (remotely operated vehicles), the practice was to use food grade oil for the hydraulics. Should a leak occur, the local critters would get a free meal but no other damage than that.

Massey ferguson 135 4 cylinder continental

I resurrected a TO-35 this past summer but I had a tough go in getting the darn thing to fire up. I measured the voltage at the coil many times ... always a full 12 volts. I knew I had to be making an assumption that just wasn't so but what was it?? On a whim, I jumpered the battery directly to...

    Diesel fuel smell

Before starting work for the day (and while still clean), use a small amount of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) as a hand creme. Work it in well and it'll fill all the nooks, crannies, and pores so the shop grime can't get in.

Adding heat to skid loader cab

Perhaps an oil cooler might do the job and the plumbing might be easier, especially if you use a quick coupler Install it down low as Mr. 504 mentioned.

Oil Bath Air Cleaner on a Diesel?

The modern twist on the oil bath air filter is the K&N oiled filter element. As with the oil bath, the oiled filter will capture dirt particles passing by.

    TO35 idle speed

First, some back story on my Fergie: She spent the past twenty years sitting outside, not running at all, due to "mechanical problems". I needed a small utility tractor and my cousin gladly gave it to me just to be rid of it. Other than having a couple of gallons of rainwater in the transmission...

    TO35 idle speed

Using a timing light, the timing appears correct for both low and high RPM.

    TO35 idle speed

It's been a few weeks but I recall the engine just can't keep running and wants to die when I try to lower the RPM. When I do go to shift into gear, I hold the clutch down for a at least 5 seconds before slipping into gear. After selecting a gear, I then select H or L. I rarely get any grinding...

    TO35 idle speed

The books all call for a 450 rpm idle on the TO35 (mine's a 1959 model) but I can't keep it running that slowly. Like most of my equipment (cars, tractors), my TO35 seems quite content to purr along at 600 rpm without skipping a beat. At what idle speed do the rest of you use on a TO35 (gas, Z134)?

    3010 John Deere hydraulic leak

Could the hydraulic system be overfilled -- with rainwater? That's exactly what happened with my Ferguson TO35 after the shifter boots failed. Before I even tried to wake the TO35 from its 20 years of idleness outside, I drained all the fluids. About two gallons came out of the transmission...
