    Super C Cam Gear installation

Yes, it is interface fit. i have heated the gear to about 200+ degrees. it goes on fairly nice, but the shaft moves back far enough where it bottoms out before it's all the way on. The shaft and gear are very clean, no burrs at all. And, as Gene mentioned, i hope i didn't knock the plug out...

    Super C Cam Gear installation

Oh Oh, is there any way to tell if i knocked the plug out? If knocked out, we're talking engine removal to put back? Doesn't it sound unusual that the shaft slides in and out about 3/8" ? I did clean the Shaft and gear - no knicks. it goes on nice with very slightest press fit, but the shaft...

    Super C Cam Gear installation

I put new Cam Gear on, but can't get it on all the way. There's too much back slop on the shaft, and as I'm rubber hammering the gear on, it bottoms out on the engine face with about 3/8" to go yet. The shaft floats back as I'm hitting the gear. I have heated the gear for easier fit. So, either...

Farmall super c - cam gear governor gear timing que...

What's funny rusty is - i've been told both ---- that it must be timed, and that no, the C doesn't need to be timed. I'm just pretty sure that the governor gear wasn't meshed with the punch mark, and it ran nice. But i'm not 100% certain about the mark. I just hate to do it one way, and have to...

Farmall super c - cam gear governor gear timing que...

I replaced a bad Cam Gear on my super c. I've got the punch marks meshed up on the crank and cam gears. Do i need to also do the same with the governor gear? I actually don"t think the governor gear was in mesh with tick mars when i took it apart. I think it was about one third way around the...

Installing cam gear on Super C -Timing question

OK - I"ve got the tractor split, and finally have removed the Cam Gear. It had stripped teeth. Just dawned on me. How do i make sure the timing is correct between the Cam Shaft and Crank Shaft - and i guess the Distributor Gear may have to be timed as well. Any feedback is appreciated. Is there...

Super C - installing oil pan - bolt torque?

Wayne, BK, Toro, Thanks - I'll be light and snug -- and keep an eye for leaks. Pan does seam pretty straight, so should be OK. Bruce

Super C - installing oil pan - bolt torque?

I"m putting my oil pan back on and wonder what a good bolt torque is when tightening. Can someone give a good range? Thanks, Bruce
