    Yeah, thats where my mind is going with this. Just ordered some 8ga wire and plan to wire it 3-wire, just got some diodes to run in the line.

    It's a 1 and 3 wire capable alternator. Reached out to the manufacturer of it and they verified that it can be used either way🤷‍♂️

    No battery, is new and good, went with an AGM Grp35, it is a 3 wire and 1 wire capable alternator.

    My '44 9N battery drains after sitting dor a while. Any cause to why? Recently rewired with all new wires, mostly 14ga except 12ga on power wires. Added new alt, key switch and electric ignition. AGM batt grp 35. Tested alt and it's putting out 12.37v to the battery and the battery shows 12.30v...

    The wire from alternator to power post and the jumper is 14ga.

    charged up the battery and tested it and I got 12.74 volts then with the tractor running the battery read 12.38 volts and 12.30 volts coming off the post from the alternator

    Yes, just the one wire. Ground to chassis. Should I maybe look to doing the 3 wire setup?

    It is showing 10 positive...but the tractor died from too much load behind it in the box blade. Went to go start and the battery was dead. I'll start it up and test voltage numbers and repost. Thanks for the assistance.
