    Planter Questions.

No more than you are going to use one i would avoid the air planter. If in only my opp a 694A or 7000 JD or a White plate planter would be much cheaper and more user friendly.in my opp any planter must have disc opponers as opposed to the old time shoes. If your 450 wont lift any planter use a 4x8...

    460 scrap value

A couple of years ago i gave 1,000. for a fenc row 460D Runable with decent rear tires, weights, fast hitch, wide front, and good ta.I have spent considerable money since trying to make it start better cold but it will never be a winter tractor.Bud.

Opinion Poll #2 Tractor longevity. Can we make them last???

If we use modern oil, support the parts venders, teach our Kids/Grandkids to resepct/use/enjoy i would think a 100 years is easy!! Of course my model T Ford will be 98 July 3"rd.1958 460D,just a youngster.Bud.

    opinion poll

Farmall Oil: Detergent VS. non detergent.

There is a reason some truck engines go 1,000 000 miles before overhaul! Big filters and a lot of high quality oil! AS for the no filter i use 5w30 in my 1914 Model T Ford with no problems! Some of the old tractors are splash or even with a pump it may only fill troughs under the rods?? Straght...

    Shop door

Often you can get much wider stuff in by angling, and backing around but if it's raining hard?? 24' much better and while i have 14' 6" height i doubt if anything short of 16' is built anymore? I just had to switch places with my overhead tram rails yesterday and even with my Grandson running the...

MOUNTED corn picker VS. Towed type.M Farmall.WHY ?

One of the many troubles of the mounted pickers was the fact they were all the old primitave wide row!! If you think about the JD 300 picker with the 3 343 3 row narrow quick tach corn head then you had something!! Bud.

Questions about a 300 for auction

Yup, i would agree it would be a better/handy tractor than a H! That pail would do a poor job of keeping water out and it looks like it has set a long time! Hot cold hot cold = sweating and there could be lot's of rust/pitting on everything exposed?? Power steering would be a plus? Bud.
