    60 gas issue

agree with these posts. I just finished up a 70. rebuilt carb and still a bit sluggish. Upon taking apart to paint, found the air inlet hose crimped. After completion plowing this fall was a major improvement!

    changing transmission lubricant

HI.. on my 70 i added flat top fenders. The wire harness was already to the battery box. So I spliced on to that and went to the fenders. I was having problems with ground so I ran a second wire to back to the battery. Here are some pictures. The metal channel much better and I can up...

JD online parts information or lack of?

in many ways makes sense that it costs more for the old stuff, surprised some as cheap as it is. If you hunt around amazing the difference in prices you can find. Many times my local dealer may be a bit higher, the cost of shipping is zero, so I save a lot.

John Deere 70 Gas attempts to stall in reverse

Interesting discussion. Playing off the forward vs reverse and fuel slosh, what about the air intake? My 70 was running bad when i put in garage for painting this winter. Once i got tore down I found that the hose that connects the oil bath to the carb was sucked together! I also found crap...

    Brake drum puller

Hi, There are some great resources out there from this forum as well as videos. The following thread helped me on my 70 brake repairs. I preferred to take the whole housing off the tractor. I used a pallet on saw horse. I cut a big hole to drop the housing in that came out of tractor and...

    JD 520 carb needle seat

yes the freight can be crazy at times. That is why i always checked my local dealer. Sometimes it might be say $1 more for part, but save $5 in freight! Not sure what to tell you about the sticking. Other than trying to clean as others said. good luck.

    JD 520 Gas line

not sure if you can spray anything in there to open the port without removing the carb. You may just need to do a rebuild. Even if you get to flow out bowl, may have plugged ports. Here is the video i watched to do mine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUp9URvm6eY the rebuild kit from...

    JD 520 Gas line

That will be a challenge. when I bought my 70 in Jan 2019 it started but ran terrible. I just pulled the carb and planned to do a "rebuild". I am a novice at this, but grew up on a farm and willing to try to fix most anything if i have a manual/you tube video. Steiner had a good one. So...

John Deere 50 wide front axle conversion

I got my square tube at New Paris Parts in Northern Indiana, about 40 miles from my Dad's farm. I paid about 10% under his list, about $1,100. Worked with Rich Brown. I looked on their page and don't have one in stock. I think it comes and goes. When i got mine in January 2019 he had 3.

    your favorite 2 cylinder

My Dad was a 720 Diesel with a pony start. He was around one as a kid bailing hay and finally bought one in his 70's to play around with at plow days etc. I was found of the 70 he had when I was a kid, so we found one and just finished fixing it up to match the one Dad had when I was a kid.
