    is the pickup a floating / swiveling type ? if so you could be sucking air at the swivel , if it is a fixed type one piece tube look for a hole in tube or where it attaches to pump body . A gear pump should be able to make suction even if worn some

    John Deere 350 dozer Injection Pump Issues.

    Remove the window with 2 screws on the side of the pump. Roll the motor over until the stationary mark lines up with the rotating mark . NOTE : this assumes that the pump is timed correctly to start with ! If you go past, back motor up at least a quarter turn then bring marks back into...

    I don't know the year , the engine is a Y 69 continental 'thermo siphon " cooling , I do have the serial # on the engine tag , the guy I bought it from died about 15 years ago
