Cub touch control stuck in the “up” position

Thanks for the comments. I finally just got a break in hay (and fixing hay equipment) so I can look at my Cub again. The orifice screen and orifice are both clean. Linkage does not appear to be the issue as the touch control lever moves freely. No binding.

Cub touch control stuck in the “up” position

I should add, the hydraulic pump makes a little whining noise. It has for at least the last 10 years, and the sound hasn’t changed since the touch control stopped working.

Cub touch control stuck in the “up” position

Last week I was mowing a tall section of grass behind the barn with my ‘62 Cub. Had the belly mower deck up so it wouldn’t plug, and now after starting it today, I can’t get the deck to go down. The touch control lever cycles freely, fluid is the appropriate level and clean. No binding, all...

Pequea 806 hay wagon driving me nuts

Last summer I bought a decent used Pequea 806 wagon to replace an ancient John Deere wagon that finally gave up the ghost. Its used for hauling round bales. Since the purchase (from an estate), Ive had issues with it and am not sure what to do. It sways terribly above 30mph, despite my...

385 3 point only lifts a few inches

Yes, its a strong lift for those 6 inches. It has one set of remotes which work fine.

385 3 point only lifts a few inches

Ive been noticing this problem coming for about 9 months now but dont regularly use the tractor (Dad does), so havent taken the time to look at it. Now I need to. Anyways, symptoms: Started out that the the 3 point wouldnt start to lift (loaded or unloaded) until about halfway up the...

    Photos of UDLXs in action

This is kind of a long shot. I’m putting together (hopefully) a historical farm display in 1/64, and would like to include an MM UDLX in some sort of custom-hire application. Problem is, I’ve not found really any good references or pictures as to what these tractors would have been used for or...

Turning up the pump on a 385

Wondering if anybody has any experience turning up the pump on the D155 found in my 385. I’m not looking for much increase in power, maybe 5-10hp at the most.

    no complaints tractor

I have one, great little tractor. Doesn’t use much fuel, plenty of power, great size. One of my favorites for sure, only “complaint” would be the gawdawful seat. But that’s a easy fix that I’ll be remedying hopefully before hay season.

Old Tractors with High Road Speeds

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I’m in MD, where the SMV requirement is (or was last I checked) 35 like a couple other states. Hence the question. JCB still very much makes the Fasttrack with its 43mph top speed, and I know several New Holland abd newer JDs are tight up there too. But...that’s...

Old Tractors with High Road Speeds

Interesting you mention a 135...I use a 35 gasser right now for mowing, tedding, and sometimes raking and it tops out at 17. Great little tractor, but I never considered that there’d be anything I could do to speed it up. It makes good power...I’ve always felt that an extra gear (I have the 3x2)...

Old Tractors with High Road Speeds

So the situation is this: I own 210 acres on our home farm, and I rent another 120 one several separate plots. Problem is, one of the larger fields is 7 miles away. I only make hay over there, so I’d really like to get an older tractor with a higher road speed to make getting over there and back...

    Low Hour Hesston Tractor

I know this is kind of an older thread, but just wanted to share that we use a Hesston 80-66DT daily on the farm. Ours is an ‘84, so it appears to be a preproduction model (actual production started in 1985). That said, it’s been a very good utility tractor for us...it’s got roughly 8000 hours...

    Mf35 power steering problems

Hey, thanks for the pictures. I do have type A in the reservoir. Just spitballing here, if I can adjust the shimmy completely out of the steering (which I can) but at the expense of power assist, monger it be possible that My pressure relief valve may need looked at? If so, where is it, and how...

    Mf35 power steering problems

I’ve had my MF35 for 4 years now, and it’s avgreat machine for mowing and tedding hay. The problem, however, is that the “power” steering has never worked right. Normally, I wouldn’t be too bothered, but I fractured several bones in my hand a few months back (cow stepped on it during milking)...
