    Ran good when parked

Problem(s) solved. I actually started at the wrong end. The fuel bowl was cleaned twice. There was no screen. The fuel line has a circular bend it I guess for vibration. The lowest point of the loop had collected crud. The inlet screen was clean. The packing around the main jet needle...

    Cub Clutch question

Pull the pan under the clutch housing and have a look. Have someone work the clutch while you"re looking. It may be the pressure plate fingers not properly adjusted . Wear your safety glasses under there.

Who says there is. No money in old tractors? On C/l's list old beat up 8N's go for $3K. A typical H with no fenders, no lights, needs tires, and 'ran when parked' will bring $2K

    Casting code again

The s/n plate on this M is missing. The casting codes I could read are 410 6722-DF 2BB 680 730 8260 DC These do not look like IH casting codes to me because the letter is not there. These are definitely cast into the metal. What do I have here? Thanks.

    farmall M

Not sure what a 12v conversion at the distributor means. If this is a true 12v conversion with a 12v battery the resistor is not needed. If it has a 6v battery it needs a 6v coil. The resistor is used to step down 12v to 6v if a 6v coil is used on a 12v conversion. Hope this makes sense.
