    Besides the spring and adjustments the governor can be just worn out. I found a good used one for $50.

    I don't know the chemistry of it but it would seem that faster drying would add shine and hardness. This is basically what a hardener does.

    Don't trust the do it yourself kits. Get a test done thru your County Extension Office. The cost is probably less than the kit. The results will also tell you exactly what needs to be applied.

    Not exactly what I wanted to hear. This engine has only 630 hours on it. I'll run a compression check on it today. Good luck on yours. Make that 330 hours.

    Is it the throttle rod packing? If so keep trying to get it all in. Might try some shortnin' on it.

    I think you are talking about carpenter bees. Generic malathion works good. Spray in the hole if you can.

    I have a Kohler Command 25hp in a JD. It started with a slight popping sound and a little oil from the exhaust. The popping is now full time and the burned oil has increased but the oil level has not changed. Now starting to miss and loosing power. Where to start looking? Can it...
