    What would indicate a DV? I happen to have an IT manual that covers these in general. And with a bit of research there are quite the variation in the D series. The big hint was the shifter style to indicate a D (series). Otherwise, it is an hour and a half away and it is buried in the bush...

    Thanks for reply, This will be no load start/transport and don't know the shape of the clutch overall. But also read no synchromesh in 4 speed so probably a handful to shift on the fly... Will give 3rd high to 4th high a try Option B I guess is 4 low to get moving then shift to high in the two...

    Good day, Update on 870 - Princess Auto had some surplus stuff in as usual... and a tank that has worked perfectly. Needed a bunch of fitting to transfer from nylon host to 1/4" barb to connect - am hoping picture is clear. Radiator spout was knocked off as well and soldered that back into place...

    Good day, Thank you all for the replies. Thoughts I had were pretty hooky but seems I'm not the only one who did desperate things in desperate times. I'd rather see her running and need the fuel tank fixed then fix the fuel tank only to have some other catastrophic thing pooching my plan...

    Gents (and ladies), Turns out oil is black but not contaminated... and engine turns over. Not seized after goodness knows how long sitting. If you saw the tank was ruptured and fuel definitely has water and dust and crap in it - you can see the damage near left rear fender. Need to disconnect...
