    new hat on the barn

Still looks god on there. And yes it is a different story to work up there on the top half even though you can walk on it compared to the bottom half.

    Flannel Shirts

I didn't find Carhartt lasted for year for me most pant/bibs will not last more than a year no matter where I buy them Shirts do slightly better and they come from discount places like salvation army or other similar places locally. As for shrinkage I find even Carhartt shrinks when washed . My...

7140 not running up to power part of the time

If it starts right off and stays running then it will probably be alright .IF it starts then stops when you let go of the key it will show a buch of numbers on the screen in the dash and stops each time it is started when key is released. IF I ties the shut off solenoid back with a string it...

    Super C Farmall

I would say it is an alternator by the looks of it. With a 6 volt battery I would wonder if the battery is god or if the alternator is not working unless it has been reworked to just charge the 6-7 volts needed for the battery to work.

    Help dating a Cat Ten

I will say this it is before the early D-4 Diesels which started in the mid 1930's or a bit earlier. Our D-4 is a 4G8 and is in the mid late 30's about 36or37 according to Dad is when Grandpa bought it new. Probably traded a Sixty in on it. Since he had a Sixty. Nobody ever said what happened to...

    Brush painting tractor

IF you use those foam brushes from the hardware store it will be better than with a bristle brush. I painted some noses for a combine head where they are close to the ground and it looked fine for that. Left no marks with it. Does take a bit of practice with it. Don't try to skimp on the paint...

Get a grp 31 with studs out the top and be done with it less fooling around in the end and no cleaning connections all the time like with lead posts.

    706 axle size

Thanks Barnyard. I just figured the 12 had bigger axles since it had more HP with the turbo. I have heard they put bigger bull pinion shafts in for the brakes becasue they got broke in them. I also don't know if that is true or not. I do know there can be differences in the casting lock up on...

Makes you wonder why this happened, combine hit by train

Tired been going for several days and just plain tired will do those things of affecting thinking or slow it down some. Then add a dirty/dusty glass to it all. Sun and glare. Sure does make a mess of things afterwards though doesn't it.
