Had a lot of metal rattling sound when I turned the starter today. I have a feeling something broke inside the engine. 😣 was hoping to make it through the spring before I tore into the engine and also rebuilt the hydraulic pump, but it looks like I'm going to have to do it a lot sooner than I...

Yessir 100% not made for heavy brush, and also mine is a 2N. I thought it was a 9N but found out it’s a 2. The 2 acre pasture at this new house hasn’t been mowed in probably over a year. I’m having to take 1/4 bites on each pass and it’s still bogs down a bit. Once I get it mowed though it’ll be...

Frustration ensued anyway. The new one won’t fit over the overrun clutch that’s on there and the machinist was acting like I was an idiot when I told him it didn’t fit. 🤦🏼‍♂️

I got off the phone is Chickasha Industrial and I’m going to have them make me a new pto shaft. I think I’ll get longer use out of it. It’s only like 25 more than buying it on Amazon and then possibly fighting a Chinese made one and getting frustrated.

Ok so this thing is fused and I need to mow the field before it gets cold and icy. If I’m to go buy a new driveshaft what does everyone recommend? I called tractor supply and they want $300 and up.

I tried to use a brass punch and 3 lb sledge, then a slide hammer. I think it’s fused together.

If I had owned this driveshaft, that is what I would have done. I’m really big on preventative maintenance. Here are the pictures.

It’s an old driveshaft. I don’t think it slides out. If it did at one time it’s rusted solid and won’t slide anymore.

Hi yall I picked up a brush hog yesterday and the driveshaft is about 12 inches too short. Will I need to measure in order to get one to fit it or are there standard sizes?
