1940 9N 3 point won't go down.
Thanks All. The 9n s so reliable I barely am reminded it does need maintenance...I have repaired the front rims, new F-1's and distributor parts/carb rebuild, but otherwise it starts and runs great. But TLC and the few $ is deserved for the next 20+ years I'll be using it.- ccaissie113

I've posted years ago when I was repairing farm equipment for others, but I accept your welcome. What's the recommended fluid to consider? I can't tell what's in there now...it's brown....- ccaissie113

Stupid question, (ford 9N)
When in Fairbanks, I had a battery manufacturer (ALASKA BATTERY) make me a "Hybrid Battery" that had 4 posts and could use 6 or 12 Volts. I had a series- parallel switch used in 24V trucks at the time and I could start the 51 Ford on 12v and then it would run and charge @ 6V. Worked at frigid...- ccaissie113

1940 9N 3 point won't go down.
First time this happened...stayed up....took the PTO out, engine off...stuck. 3 pt control lever felt like there was some resistance to full down position. Next morning it was down flat and seemed to operate ok. Bush hogging with a 5' FORD mower runs great. Clogged something? I admit I...- ccaissie113
