    1970's IH 434 PTO shaft seal question

    Thanks for the input. Sorry about the late response. I can pull the seal out and change it. I don't understand how the shaft has moved and yet it still works. I believe the clutch is gone as it grinds to get engage the PTO. I am comparing the shaft to another identical tractor I have. Thanks again.

    I hit a rock with my bush hog and broke the shear pin. The PTO driveline went flying around, then I noticed the PTO seal was leaking on the tractor and it looks like shaft has moved out (about 1/2 inch).     I am trying to remove the rear rim on my 1970's IH 434 tractor. I bought a 1- 1/16 impact socket. Too small, I tried 1-1/8 is too big??? Metric?? Any help or hints to remove the rear tire would be helpful. Thanks
