    disc mower

We have run a 9 ft disc mower (NOT a disc mower/conditioner)on a Ford 3939 with no problems before. It did need some weight on the front to help with turning. 3930 was rated at 45 pto hp.

    Buddy seat

For those who bought them after the fact, did you order from the JD dealership? We have a 7200 that we would like to add one to. Thanks.

What models of older round balers are worth buying?

If you're talking about what I call the "newer" Hesston's, which is identical to the New Idea's, they are fairly good. We ran several of them over the years. Some may not like the less dense core that they make but it never bothered us. They are pretty simple and easy to work on. Biggest...

    4430 steering problems

Thanks for the help. The tech that came out was a younger fellow. I'll ask them to check those things when they come get it...again. How much to re-seal the motor on the side, in general?

    4430 steering problems

We have an early model 4430(1974 year model) with cab. Last fall we were having some problems with the steering. At start-up, the steering would be sluggish and the steering wheel would stop and the wheels would need several seconds to catch up. After the wheels slowly went to full turn(bump...

40,50,55 Series to 4430 Seat Swap?

Does anyone have any experience in swapping a newer seat out of a 40, 50 or 55 series to a 4430? It looks like it would be a bolt in fit. Is this true? The "newer" seats are much more operator friendly. Also, if this is possible, where might I find a newer seat frame? Thanks for the help.

    4430 hydraulics leaking down

It leaks down with a single or double action cylinder. With the round baler, we have to "pressurize" the cylinder on the door every minute or so, or the door will pop open. I know that it leaks on two of the three sets on the 4430(third set is "old style" JD, not Pioneer so they don't get used...

    4430 hydraulics leaking down

Our 4430 is set up with 3 sets of hydraulic outlets. It is leaking pressure internally while running. Whatever is hooked to it will leak down, whether the baler, mower, disk, etc. We're experiencing the same problem on our JD 7200 also. Do we need to rebuild the couplers? The most common...

    4430 drawbar

Hay dragging up isn't as much of the problem as is the height of the hitch point. Baler performs better on a higher drawbar, but the 4430 drawbar turned up is too high. When we pull the baler with our JD 7200 which has a straight drawbar, the baler pickup has a bigger range of "float" giving a...

    4430 drawbar

Hello to all. New to the board and I have a question. I have a 4430 with factory drawbar. We use this tractor for round baling with a JD567 baler. My question is-does anyone know if I can get a straight drawbar for this tractor. The factory drawbar is too low turned down (drags windrow) and...
