    Starter And Motor Locked Up And Not From Fuel In Cylindar

    Brian, I had the same problem... My advice is try Steve"s advice first... What I finally had to do was pull the starter completely off of the tractor...then I learned how to reinstall brushes! As Bruce from Va said, "Not fatal, but not much fun either"; but, it gave me a chance to clean starter...

    Well,after visiting this site (Yesteday"s Tractor)and reading and posing and reading some more I figured out: how to get the starter off, how to ensure grounding for the starter, how to reset the brushes after I errantly pulled the armature out of the brushes and which way the batery went...

    How do You Determine +/- Ground?

    Replacing my battery and I didnt pay any attention to whether it was positive or negative ground. How do you determine which way it is, and will it matter if I get it backwards? P.S. Thanks to the panel for all their asssitance in resovling my starter problem.
