MF 275 any good for a tractor

We've now put about 50 hours on our new to us 275 and I have to say, its a REAL power house compared to the 165 being rebuilt in the barn. It'll turn the 6 foot brush hog though anything going as fast as I feel safe to go (2L MP High). spin the cotter pin underneath the clutch to see if any...

    Common Massey 275 problems?

Well guys, I ended up buying it. 2200 hours, loader, and everything worked as it should. 7,000 dollars delivered 150 miles. The guys was real nice and the tractor was in good working order so I didn't want to haggle with him. Will get pictures once its delivered. Also have a few levers added...

    M.F. 165, Stopped Running

It'll only look like a small spit of stream, but more will come out when you pull it back to full throttle. Also, check to see if you have any rust in the tank. It'll look like someone put sand in the fuel system. We had that on our 165. It'd run great for about 5 minutes, get out and...

    Common Massey 275 problems?

How much more heat will having it in high all the time cause? I noticed when plowing with the 165, the transmission would get real hot to the touch (3 bottom plow, first gear, MP on high). Also, while I'm picking ya'lls brain, is a 3 bottom plow excess for the 165 or 275 in horse packed clay...

    Common Massey 275 problems?

Speaking of the Multi Power unit- when can you switch to high? When can you switch to low? I never know when I can switch them in and out without hurting the tractor. Surprisingly, the 560's TA worked great.... though it was never needed around our little 6 acre plot.

    Common Massey 275 problems?

After dealing with an IH 560 last year and selling it and STILL working on restoring the 165, its time for another tractor. Anyway, its a 275 with a Multi-Power unit and 2200 hours or so. He's the second owner and uses it daily. We are heading over Sunday to take a look at it. I about cried...

Any common problems with the IH 684's?

Thanks! Next question- Any engine or driveline problems common? Average hours between rebuilds assuming it was reasonably cared for? I had a 560 that the headgasket was giving up the ghost on and don't want to deal with that again. Between that and the fact it was a MONSTER for 5 acres...

Any common problems with the IH 684's?

I'm going to be looking at one locally with a loader and 2300 hours on it. Any common problems to look out for? Thanks everyone!

Where to buy and sell used Massey parts?

Thanks everyone! I'll start searching again and see if I can sift out the junk yards you are talking about. Around here in Springfield IL, a tractor bone yard would be unheard of :(

Where to buy and sell used Massey parts?

Besides Ebay, does anyone know a good place to find or sell Massey parts? I need a few oddball things and also have 2 ad4.203 diesel 165 tractors I'm turning into one, so the spare parts need to go (our barn is FULL now!). I looked in the classified section here, but its hard to work with...
