Can you help me identify this sickle mower?

Looking at some pictures. I think you are correct! I believe it is the 6 foot model. Anyone have any ideas on the part #'s for the belts?

Can you help me identify this sickle mower?

Hi, Can you help me identify this sickle mower? I believe it is a Dearborn. Specifically, I need to know the size of the belts (it has no pitman) and where I might be able to buy the belts. I have a bunch more photos here: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/s8jop3ufyavddk5/S9_P6OIWbY...

    2n wiring trouble

Just a guess, the original system was positive ground. The new 12v system is negative ground. Run the wire through the back of the ammeter going in the opposite direction and it should show positive volts. On a side note, the ammeters on both my 8N's are full of condensation and always...

Starter only engages for a second, need a new bendix?

Thanks for the replies. I'll clean it up and see if that helps. The tractor runs really well. My '51 8n runs pretty rough and I am used to the bendix popping out when it coughs while starting. This is a new issue on my '52. It was popping out really quickly, like within a second or so.

    ford loader, the rarest thing?

I just sold a dearborn loader with hydraulic bucket. When I sold mine there were 2 or 3 others on craigslist in the central New England area. I usually see one or 2 a month for sale up here. I think most folks up here use them for snow removal.

Starter only engages for a second, need a new bendix?

'52 8n side mount. Original 6 volt system. Lately, when I go to start it, the starter turns the motor over once, then the starter "spins" and does not engage the flywheel anymore. Luckily the motor starts easily so I just have to bump the starter button a couple times and it will finally...

Economizer Jet Crushed in Carb Hole

Before everyone jumps on me about this, it wasn't me who did it. Honest! I have 2 8N's and three carbs (one came with an extra) so this is not a major problem. I rebuilt the carb on my new 8N and all is well. I had so much fun rebuilding the carb that I decided to rebuild the spare. The...

No rear fenders - got to be risky?

Are those some kind of custom hubs, or where they an option on the Jubilee's? If they are aftermarket, who makes them?

    Cab adjustment for high RPMs

Thanks Gary. 1/16th of a turn... that is part of my problem. I was making half turn adjustments. Looks like more finesse is needed :) Will post back after I fiddle with it tonight.

    Cab adjustment for high RPMs

Hi All, so I got the spark issues resolved on my '52 8N sidemount only to find carb issues. Float was bad (it was a sinker), so got a rebuild kit and a new float went through the carb rebuild page on this site and did as instructed and cleaned out all the passages (many were plugged up bad), and...

    '52 8N Side Mount 6V No Spark

Good news! It lives! Thanks for all the guidance! Two issues I had to overcome: #1 - filter at carb elbow was blocked. removed the screen for now. Now the fuel runs (and runs and runs)... right through the carb. Float must be stuck open? At any rate, I cracked the fuel tank valve open a...

    '52 8N Side Mount 6V No Spark

I meant pointing at the distributor cap tower/point that goes to number 1 cylinder (the cylinder next to the radiator). That is, when the rotor is engaging the spark plug on number one.
