    Hi, A carb can always be rebuilt. The main this is: Did you soak it out overnite with a good carb cleaner? This is the most important. Swishing it out with gas is not enough. If you havent done this do it now. Chuck

    MF 180 hi/lo range shift lever problem

    Try This: With multi power lever all the way up, follow down to top of trans. Loosen the little clamp that is on a small peg and tap the peg down while holding the clamp up and then retighten. Be sure the clamp does not stick to the peg and slides upward as the peg goes down. Chuck

    Sounds as if the hyd pump is "pressured" by the hyd levers back too far.

    Most people believe this is too simple to believe, but in all my years it worked most of the time. With the multi power lever up, go to top of trans. loosen the clamp and tap the "peg" down while holding the clamp up-then retighten and give a try. Chuck

    Pump has lost prime. What works best is to force air into the diff. dipstick hole and hold it for awhile. It should oil into the pump. Chuck

    A dealer should have a tool. Do you live in Mn. I have a homemade one. You will need an impact wrench as that will loosen the threads. Most are LH threads. I have loaned this out many times if you are close to Mpls. Chuck

    hi, Do NOT use 90wt gear oil. Use a mineral oil. If you are in the Cold, you will have trouble this winter. Ford was always specific about that. Chuck

    Jeff, Try this. With the multi lever to the top, loosen the clamp above the tranny that holds the little pin. Push the pin way down and retighten. Then give it a try. Chuck
