    Super A carb problems

Thanks for the suggestions Dennis. The head was redone with new valves, guides and seals, magna fluxed and reinstalled. Compression is within specs as well as timing. When I disconnect the fuel line from the carb it flows freely, but how/what should I do to check vacuum? As an aside this...

    Super A carb problems

Thanks to all who offered their thoughts. The tractor will start and run if I continue to fool with the choke but eventually it seems like it runs out of gas. (Tank is full) When its running I've sprayed carburetor cleaner around the intake manifold to see if there might be a leak but it made...

    Super A carb problems

I'm being challenged by a carb problem that seems to have no end in sight. The tractor came to me third or fourth hand so I can only assume it's had many hands making repairs or changes. It currently has a zenith carb but there isn't a tag telling me a model number. I'm to the point of buying...

    Super A carburetor.

I have acquired a 1952 Farmall super A. The tractor has been converted to a 12V system. The tractor seems complete excepting it has no carburetor There appears to be a number of choices that might fit but how do I determine which one is correct? Thanks

    6 X 12V super A conversion

I will double check all my wiring. Is there a way to confirm the coil is still working? I've changed the plug wires and wire from coil to distributor. I pulled a plug and grounded it to the block and not seeing any spark. Thanks

The alternator is listed in Yesterday's Tractors catalog as a universal Delco alternator. There are in fact 3 wires.

    6 X 12V super A conversion

Checked the points by using hand crank to get the distributor to the high lobe and double checked the clearance. The alternator is a universal 63 amp made by Delco. Might you know of a sight that has a 6 to 12 v wiring schematic? Thanks

    6 X 12V super A conversion

I've converted my '52 Super A to 12V. Initially it ran abet rough but ran. The Alternator, wiring , plugs, starter, coil, battery and points are all new. Now (a week later) the battery is completely dead and I get no spark at all. Also after cranking with recharged battery the coil , with a...
