    Go to eBay and by a new high performance starter less then 100 bucks. I put one on me 430 with 188 Diesel engine. Don't look back. Started better then it ever did. Haven't had any trouble. Richard

    I was referring to the cars that JI Case fielded in the Indianapolis 500 of 1911, 1912 and 1913. There are several pictures of the cars and drivers with there Case uniforms if you google it. Richard

    So Ih made refrigerators, Allis made electric motors, JD had a 2 cylinder tractor and painted it green, case been there did that. Case ran the Indianapolis 500 over 100 years.

    I use crazy glue and drill with little screws, hold for me. Have you considered the water proof bags like for cell phones and cameras I use them when I go canoeing.

    Advise on Smaller Tractor Model

    I would put my money into the 530 deisel. As others have said it's the same size tractor just more HP. The 188 deisel engine can't be beat, you will not find a more fuel efficient engine out there old or new. There are lots of part new and used, even some after market parts because it shares...

    I have used them. I have used one in my camper for years. Don't get the cheep ones with plastic ends, brass only.
