    JD5300 Adjusting the clutch

The others are correct about the pin. As to the pressure on the ball joint, that indicates there is no free travel in the pedal and the clutch is not fully engaging. That is without a doubt why your clutch is slipping. When adjusted properly with the correct pedal free travel, there should...

    4430 steering pump leak

Loosen the oil line going to that end of the piston. Hydraulic suction will prevent pulling the plug out. Have also seen the snap ring roll a burr on the edge of the bore. Slide hammer is the best option.

    4450 Bhi and Clo

I installed one yesterday in a 4850. It took a little time and fiddling. Try installing the C1 and C2 shafts to help align everything. With the shafts you can also turn the planetary gears to help with alignment. I also install 2 long bolts through the housing to keep it close to the right...

4430 Steering Motor Experts: I need your help!

The parts they sold you are the correct substitution for that application. The teflon ring wears better than the original o-ring. For installing, I use a hose clamp with a plastic strip wrapped around the ring to protect it. Cut a strip from a plastic jug that just fits around the piston so...

    John deere 3010 clutch shaft

Movement at the front of the shaft is normal with the tractor split. The pilot bearing in the rear of the crankshaft supports the front of the shaft when the tractor is together. End play on the smaller (transmission) shaft is normal for the same reason. The larger pto shaft will have the...

Fiber optic leads on a 4620

The fiber optics are just for backlighting the gauges. Won't hurt anything to not have them. You may want to plug the holes with silicone to keep moisture out of the gauges.

    bill hook not releasing twine

If the knot is made properly on the billhook, the problem is with the wiper arm as that is what strips the knot off of the billhook. The concerning part of your statement is that both sides are doing the same thing. Did you change the brand or size of twine you are using? Did this problem...

    2510 diesel clutch kit?

Hy-Capacity lists all the parts you need but are out of stock on the pressure plate ($750). They should be able to rebuild yours if you send it to them.

    2555 sump screen particles

The cavity the sump screen is in is hard to get the corners cleaned out. Your bigger pieces look like parking brake material. Hopefully it's just left from before. As to the slipping problem, As Jim said, clutch or reverser could cause this. Reverser will likely only slip in forward or...

    4030 inframe main bearing install

The bolt for the idler gear can be removed without any problems. The bushing that the idler gear rides on is held in by that bolt, but the bushing also has a shoulder that presses into the timing plate so it will stay in place with the bolt removed. If you remove the oil pump, the one balance...

    4230 cab blower fans

4230 has 2 motors with 4 squirrel cages. Late 40 series switched to one motor. It sounds like one of the two power wires to the blower switch is dead. There is also a harness connector by the RH front cab mount that is a common problem area. Check circuit breakers first and go from there.

4430 Load Control Shaft Bushing Replacement

If you remove the pto cover/quill assembly (key10 in the parts pic), you can go in with a wire and mirror and fish it out. You will need to push it toward the left side to reach it. Good luck.

4430 Load Control Shaft Bushing Replacement

Interesting description. The short version is that when in the storage position, it puts the race inside the rear end housing where it can fall off and end up where you found it.

4430 Load Control Shaft Bushing Replacement

When the 540 shaft is in the storage location, it is inside the rear end housing so the race can fall off and get to where you found it. The storage cavity may be short enough that it actually falls off while installing/removing the shaft from storage but that is definitely how the race ends up...
