    So I picked up this 9N, guy told me it was converted to 12 volt. This looks like an old generator (says Ford V8 on it). There is no battery in it to see which post goes to ground. If the generator was reworked, is it a positive ground or negative ground system?

    Shift lever: Picked up a 9n, these are new to me, opened the cover next to the lever and I can see there is a spring and somethng that is broken between the lever and the shift plate, just don't know what its supposed to look like, anyone got a diagram, parts list etc. and how big of a PITA is...
