Cub- 3 bad starters in a row?

As far as I could tell, this one was holding good brush tension but that one was a little dirtier than the others. I did notice with the cap off the brushes seemed to be able to catch on the housing occasionally but I don't think that's an issue when the armature is actually installed. I...

Cub- 3 bad starters in a row?

Finally got back to this again, she wanted me to try rebuilding it. I pulled it apart and this is what I m seeing. Commutator looks pretty beat up, brushes seem beat up. Brushes are mostly still there but a couple were rough looking. I cleaned it really good with some scotch-brite and...

Cub- 3 bad starters in a row?

I'm working on a Farmall Cub for a friend- she called me out a month or two ago and said her tractor wouldn't start. I figured out the starter was only working intermittently and would sometimes smoke- tapping on it with a hammer while cranking would get it to go but the thing was clearly...

PTO shield retainer? New Holland 65 baler

Last year I made too sharp of a turn with the baler, the PTO pin and fell out and the shaft came off the tractor while spinning. Changed my setup so that cant happen again but unfortunately when it did what we retains the PTO shield on the baler end came apart. Theres a big bent up ring in...

Whats this mechanism on the lower 3pt links? MF65

This is on an MF65. Circled the parts in question. Theres a little spring under the link and a bolt/bushing through a slot that seems to be meant to slide. I was wondering what thats for. Ive seen tractors where you pull a lever and the ends of the linkage slide out a bit to help you line...

MF65 how do I get the hydraulic pump out?

Got him! So heres the procedure for anyone who finds this in the future. Remove top cover & driveline shaft. Remove PTO shaft. Remove side PTO selector cover, take out pump retaining pins on the side, remove the pipe from the multi power pump, then the 3 bolts holding it on- you may...

MF65 how do I get the hydraulic pump out?

When you say front cover what are we talking about? The only thing Im seeing in the front of mine is the shifter fork for high/low, the shaft it moves, and a big round thing that shaft is sliding in/out of. Is that thing the cover? I was looking at it and certainly if it was out of the way...

MF65 how do I get the hydraulic pump out?

Hmmm maybe thats not as hard as I originally was thinking. Id be splitting at the circled bolts not the engine right? So I wouldnt have to pull all the tin and everything off, Id just have to take the footrests off and disconnect the brake linkages, support both ends and roll apart basically?

MF65 how do I get the hydraulic pump out?

Ok I found a diagram in the parts manual and decided to chance prying the MP pump off with a screwdriver, not sure why that was necessary but it worked. Now just trying to figure out how the heck you're supposed to wrestle the main thing out of there... I've seen pictures on here showing...

MF65 how do I get the hydraulic pump out?

I have everything free I just cant seem to find an angle to wrestle it free. It looks like if I got that secondary pump which I think is for the multi power off Id be able to get it maybe. Took the three bolts on top out but its not coming off, dont want to force anything and break that...

MF65 removing the top cover with remotes

Hello, my 65 has very weak/slow hydraulics. I've already tried changing fluid and cleaning the filter so I think I need to get the top cover off and inspect then probably rebuild or replace the hydraulic pump. My issue is I have a remote hydraulic adapter bolted to it- it looks like there...

MF65 how to free stuck PTO clutch?

I got my flywheel back from the machine shop and am just about ready to put this together but Im wondering about the correct spec for the clutch fingers. Found another possible measurement elsewhere in a thread from a guy working on a 135. Im also seeing that clearance matches up with the...
