    Caterpillar MS 70 Excavator

I just bought this machine for home use. It has a couple of issues I need to address before use. It had been setting a few years and would not start. The PO had the injector pump rebuilt and now it starts and runs good. I have not run it very long at a time but noticed it starts to overheat...

    Ferguson TO 20 oil filter

I just tried to change the oil in my Ferguson TO 20 for the first time. The center bolt in the plate on the oil pan turned and dropped down about and inch and a half and would not lower any more. How does it come off to clean the filter/screen in the oil pan. Thanks..

    Alternator for 860 Ford

Thank you very very much for the edification Myron and Jmor. The milliamp drain makes much more sense now. And the diode explanation now clicks years and years of seeing them on computer parts and their placements. Sort of a back flow preventer valve on an outdoor water spiket or garden...

    Alternator for 860 Ford

Will be the first to admit electrical is definitely not my strong suit. Many here have helped me limp along on basics of starter/VR/Genny etc. Mea Culpa: Conversing with wifey while packing computer desk piles for house move, and mixed amp/volt #'s in my head. My apologies. Breaking...

Off the top of my pea brain, remembering several previous conversations about said subject... if memory serves correct, SG's part #'s found at Radio Shack were something like $3 tops for the diode. Been awhile since checked instore... Correction, Online 4 pack... Don't break the bank...

only funny cuz it's true... my tractor day this afternoon!

Ever notice how ants time themselves to bite all at the same time? They exude a pheromone that acts as signal="time to attack". Bees, wasp, hornets etc. have the same thing. Smells like bananas all of a sudden...

    5000 Parking brake

Also looks about right size for a small hay hook, if farmerization would be cheaper.

only funny cuz it's true... my tractor day this afternoon!

Not meaning to hijack SG's thread, so quick off topic: Delicate balance with Hornets/Mud Dawbers/etc. In the current state of the Ag industry, we spend Trillions on chemicals and chem resistant seed to eliminate certain weeds and pests. Most types of caterpillars are food source for Hornets...

only funny cuz it's true... my tractor day this afternoon!

Sorry to hear about solvable issues, SG. Seems like all our farmers will be scrambling to get hay cut, dried, n put away before more rain next week. Tryi.g to juggle moving house to farm and still get runs made to get 5000+ rolls (not to mention bales too) at same time hauled is gonna be...
