    Ford 640 - bad oil leak

    You do not need to split it to change the rear engine seal,it is not easy but I changed one on an 860 about a year ago.It helps is you raise the tractor several inches with jack stands.

    450 inner brake housing removal

    That is true with an M,,but not 400,or 450.I changed the bull pinion seals in my 400D without dropping the bull gear, and other than wiggling the housing loose from the o-ring,had no problem.

    We have had nuts loosen up in our shop by heating them up,but we need to be careful we do not melt the line.

    You need to remove the rockshaft housing and transmission cover ,do not need to split it.

    What do you use when storing gas engines?

    I have used Seafoam for many years,leaving the tank full,if I need to run it.I use that in my motorcycle, mowers ,chainsaw,etc and John Deere G,and have never seen a problem.

    The 4020 safety start switch is not in the cowl but down on the right side of the transmission ,and if power shift also in front of the clutch pedal linkage

    Yes,not all wedges have the pins,thet last one i did had them.But I found the main bearing cap will leak between it and the block without pushing some sealant in before shoving the wedges in.

    I speedy sleeve will not work as the rear crank flange is much bigger than the seal surface. I have not had trouble with the rubber type the lip goes toward the front and I shove a little ultra gray in the side grooves before I install the wedge seals and pins.
