Lifting head, 256 turbo diesel?
All head bolts out, intake, exhaust/turbo off, bracket on back of head for hydraulic lines off, fuel filter off. Am I missing something? On the driver rear of the head, there was a notch area of the head above a tab on the block, tried prying up there and part of the tab broke off so I stopped...- Cutlass327

Head gasket kit for 7500 backhoe?
1974 Ford 7500 Industrial backhoe, it has the 256 turbo diesel 4 cylinder. I found the left front corner head gasket leaking, so I am now in the search for one. I found a gasket set here, but I didn't notice a brand for the gaskets. Where can I find a quality head gasket set for this engine...- Cutlass327

My luck is that they will be pitted from corrosion or whatever.. do any go into coolant passages? I'm not familiar with industrial diesels, only automotive.- Cutlass327

Found my head gasket leaking oil, ordering a head gasket, but would like to have a new set of head bolts too. Anyone have a PN for new bolts? Edit: 74 Ford 7500 with 256 turbo diesel- Cutlass327

'74 7500 backhoe turbo size?
Does anybody know what a comparable turbo would be for the stock turbo on the 256 4cyl diesel? I'm thinking if I can find a used turbo that is properly sized, and has an actual outlet flange for the exhaust, I can eliminate that ridiculously priced pipe "gasket" I need. Can someone tell me where this is? My wiring was hacked up, only the amp and oil psi gauges connected. I have since pulled all of the harness out, and will build a new one with all names gauges. As I'm gathering replacement gauges, and I can only find mechanical oil temp gauges with 6' sender...- Cutlass327
